"When we said eye contact, we are not asking you to scan the room, that's face contact." Reply Mickey.
"You should look into their eye-balls! That's the real eye contact!"

Mickey have corrected me once again, when stand in front of others, I should look into at people eye-balls, for 2-3 seconds. Thats what eye-contact mean. After that move to another corner. Another 2-3 seconds.

How to make technical training more interesting.

My boss is giving Oracle SQL and PL/SQL tuning workshop right now and I feel pretty boring. I am right now sitting at one corner here figuring out how to make technical heavy training more interesting. Here are a few tips which I can think of:

1. Think of the audience first!
My boss just talking away in front and never bother about the students in front! The students with thier laptop in front just surfing away. I think my boss explaination is just too technical. He should put less technical material, like something easier to be understood. This will lighten up the presentation.

2. Have discussion group.
Should have some case study or discussion group going. Have the groups discuss various ways of solving a problem.

3. Prepare well before the presentation or carry on...
My boss is doing all the last minute diagnosing on the problem during presentation, which I think is no good. Should prepare well first.

How to drive a car safely using what I learn from public speaking.

I always believe I should learn how to apply what I learn from a subject on to another subject. Main reason is I like to save money and time! No need to spend money and time on Safety Driving.

1. Start Early.
I always encourage my members to prepare their speech early. Same goes to driving a car, especially in Malaysia! The reason is because you got to save a lot of time, where there are less traffic. Less traffic meaning less accidents, of course doesn't mean you have to start speeding! Maintain a reasonable speed.

2. Know your audience.
It's always important to know your audience, how to read their facial expression while you are making a speech.
When you're driving a car, you don't read the driver's facial expression, because their are not facing directly at you! What you can do is to read the reaction of the cars in front of you. This will normally give you a rough idea on how challenging the traffic in front of you.

3. Practise, Practise and Practise!
What do you do if you suddenly cannot say a single word from your speech? What if you have an accident when making a speech or driving a car? A good speaker and a good driver shoule always anticipate what will happen next while drivine the speech or car, that's why you need a lot of practise! Practice you driving skill on the road all the time on not so crowded places. Practice side parking and 'L' parking, whenever possible.

4. Visualising
A good speaker always visualize the entire speech. Where should I pause. How long should I stop. What kind of gestures should I give. Same goes to driving a car. One need to know the route to the destination. What is the condition of the road. Which lane should I keep when I reach this part of the town. Which gear should I turn to when I am negotiating this curve. Should visualize this before you start driving.

How to get people to meet up by using what I learn from public speaking

I always found it difficult to get people to meet up. What you normally do? I try to apply what I learn from Toastmasters to counter my challenge.

1. Know your audience.

What the people that you going to meet up like? What's thier favourite way of meeting up? Are they quiet people? Do they like to surf the net the whole day? Do they like to meet up face to face?

2. Know your meeting place.

Where they prefer to meet up? Near a place where no need to pay for parking? Fast Food restaurant where you can get a quick bite immediately? Or just the local mamak stall?

3. Don't ever give them a choice. You decide the topic!

Hey! When you are giving a speech, do you ask for the audience what you wanna talk about? You don't do that lah! So you are the one who is going to make choices for them! Influence them with your skills!

Downgrading from Wira 1.5 to Myvi 1.3

Why I come to this toasmaster meeting, is purely coincidence. I just bought a manual car last week.
All the while I was driving my automatic transmission Wira 1.5 since 1999. Last week, I bought a Myvi 1.3, manual transmission. I am trying to adapt myself back to manual by doing a lot of practise on the road.
While passing by this area, I hit a lot of traffic, and I am horrify with the traffic. My self-confidence starting to drop tremendously! I need to boost my self-confidence and I happen to know around this area, there's a club meeting tonight! That's the most perfect place to boost my confidence!

Learn Something New Everyday

Had lunch with an ex-colleague and husband 2 days ago, Syl and Mat.

Mat just move to another company recently.

Mat: ...I just resigned from my previous job, and move to an oil company, because there are no career advancement for me there. I don't have anything to do. Most of the employees there just sit around and do nothing...

If I am Mat, I definitely will not leave the company but starts to 'chase my dreams' during my free time in the company. That's what Do some self studying. I am trying to do this in my current workplace.

I regret I never did this when I was in my 20's. Wasted a lot of precious time doing nothing, especially in my first company.

I remember when I was in my 20s, a few of my seniors, in their 30s and 40s, always give me advice, never waste my time but I never listen to them.

Now, when I am in my 30s, I finally realized what they meant. If we want be become successful, we need to advance in our life! We need to take up challengers, to become a better person everyday; continue learning something new everyday.

Show them you are vulnerable and touch thier hearts!

Just did my Speech #10, "Inspire the Audience" and this is what my evaluator commented:

"It's good that you can laugh at yourself. Even you came in last most of the time in your class, you failed your Mathamatics Exams, etc. You still can find humor and laugh over it!
You just told the others that you're vulnerable. You show the weaker side of you, as a human. Do you know that audience like to see a weaker side of a speaker? Because this make the character (you) more real. This made you more human.
Some speaker doesn't like to show the weaker side. The speaker doesn't talk about his flaw, his weaknesses, his failuers, etc. It's just too perfect, to be a speaker; a human...."

"Somehow your speech doesn't touch me. You did told us your weakness, and how you overcome it. You got the message, but you did not connect your message with the audience. The audience does not feel the urgency to change. You did not sink the message into the heart of the audience.
What I suggest to you is to 'touch' and 'scold' the audience heart by asking something that's common to us like: 'How many times you plan stop smoking and you always says wait for tommorow, and when tomorrow comes, you never stop and you want to wait for another tomorrow?' (Try to 'scold' the audience a bit) 'Do you know that you have also KILL your love ones because you have made them to become 2nd hand smoker as well!?'
After that, make sure you don't let your audience hanging like that, says something that lift them up again like: 'One less smoker in the World doesn't mean the cigratte company going for brankcrupt.' Er... Maybe that's a bad example, but just get the audience attention first by saying some funny stuff. 'One less smoker meaning one more happy family.'

And always supplement a few good quotes: 'People tell you you cannot do something it's because they cannot do it themselves' - Persuit of Happyness, Will Smith.

About 10km before Pagoh, notice tempreature rising. From Half to 3 quarters! Switch off Air con but tempreature mantained but down to half. About 5km before, fingers itchy, turn on air con! Tempreature rising reach FULL! Panic a lot but do not show face in front friends!

When reach Pagoh Rest Area, whole car stop, cannot start anymore. Wait 1 hour cool down.

After fill car with water, still cannot start car, wonder why? Later inspect, pipe burst!

Lucky CPT friends around :) Call TOW truck, and only charge RM$400 bundle with passenger seat! Good Deal.

Suspect did not close cap properly? Not sure my self. Maybe I only secure one side of the cap, not both. Terry called saying most of the time, human nature will secure cap properly. Agree with him - but still not sure about myself?

Last night I had a dream where I get RM$60,000 worth of scholarship! Wonder this is because I started to tell myself to think positive, and to smile more to others?

After 1B - Magic Games, Paradigm Shift and Being Fat

After 1B I found something weird happened to me! I found out that I become very fat(oh)!

I try to use what ever I learn from 1B like playing magic card games (tought by P*Yoh) and cutting paper games to reduce my weight, but somehow it's not sternous enough lah... Cannot cut down weights.

Then I use the Magic number game (with my weight and a few other numbers) and I found out something interesting! I tried the xy-x-y method and this is what I found out:

75-7-5 = 63 = 6+3 = 9

100-1-0-0=99=9+9=18=1+8=9

4321-4-3-2-1=4311=4+3+1+1=9

I always get 9, what ever number I use! I try to figure out where I see the 9 before, very familiar lah somewhere... THEN I found out that it's from the Happy Chart! If someone use the calculation, she will always get the number 9! The most extreme one:

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9
Slim-----------------------Super Duper Fat

The participants will always get No. 9! The Super Duper Fat!

Imagine how dangerous this method if it falls to the wrong hand! Remember the Scratch and Win Scam We had a few years ago in M'sia?

1. Scratch 1 star - get an Iron

3. Scratch 3 star - get a Car but need to pay $5,000 first!

And the scammers always want you to get the 3 stars! Hope it doesn't falls into the wrong hand lah!

1. Find 4 brochures, make comments and give points of improvement.
2. Read 2 books, our favourites, put into 5 slides and come out with a training program.

In 2 weeks! Very scared lah! Spending some time now doing them lah!

Last weekend was brutal for me! I never did something that is so crazy in my life before. I did 2 presentation on stage during CP's 1A and 1B and looks really bad!

I really underestimate the training program! Never expect it to be so intensive.

I think I did not meet Mickey's expectation... Need to do better the next 2A and 2B next weekend.

My broken toe nail

On my way down from Mt. Kinabalu, the constant hitting of the shoe on the toe nail, causes the nail constantly knock on the toe. This creates a lot of friction between the toe and the toe nail. I took a Panadol and painkiller tablets to got down. Don't really feel the pain.

Only Tuesday I went to see the Doc, because I thought the good old nail can still 'stick' back to the toe - but this is not the case!

Yesterday went to see the Doc and he remove my toe nail, and wanted me to keep the nail as a reminder. "This is a doctor's order!" he said. Ok. I kept the nail.

While operating my toe, he told me he also climb the mount before, bout 2 years ago, with a whopping 92kg.

"Look at the bright side, You only lost your toe nail." says the doctor.

"No. I lost my toe nail, and need to pay you too."

The doctor promise to give me a 'resonable' fee.

I got the doc's name card, promise to give him a call, if I happend to climb the Mount again.

Nice chap.

Why you want to go?

"Why do you want to go there?" When I tell people, I want to climb Mt. Kinabalu, I have friends asking me this question. Since the first time I went camping back in 1991 in Taman Cahaya Sri Alam in Shah Alam, my parents already asking me the same question, with addtional questions
like, "Any snakes there?" "What if you are injured?" "Don't you feel uneasy/ uncomfortable facing all the unknown?"

It is tough, because I need to shape up myself before every trip.
It is very uncomfortable, because of the sweat, rain, leeches, sore toes.
It is always unknown to me, what lay ahead.

Wasn't Life like that? We always feel uneasy, uncomfortable, uncertainty, etc. to try out new
things, adventures.

I think I do it because it's good for the mind and soul; to face the unknown.

Be brave. Need to be brave. I am training to be brave to face the unknown, either in life or just a simple trip to a jungle.

Just hike Gunung Naung on Saturday with BB and WC. Only 1/2 way, and took us 3 1/2 hours up and 3 1/2 hours down!

BB and WC can really hike! One is ex-scot and the other is a geologist. They got the stamina.

BB bought a 100Plus but when he hold the label of the bottle, the entire bottle dislocate from the label, fall on the floor, and half of the liquid gone! Had to share mine!

Told him going to Kinabalu on the 20th. Suggest to me to go Batu Caves for training. Went there last Saturday. Very tiring. Ears already gone read, said BB. Ask me to stop! Will go Mt. Naung this coming Saturday. CWC join us also.

First St. V day with PF

Booked a table in TGIF, the curve at 8pm but when we get there at 7:50pm, about 10-15 couples already lining up out side and it's full house inside!

Just don't get it!? Why TGIF cannot estimate couples coming in for the dinner?

PF just grab me and rush to Tesco's Fish Market Restaurant and only got 2-3 couples there!

She order a Salmon steak and I order a Dory with some Green coloured incredible Hulk looking source on top - salty. Took a Polaroid pic and I get to keep the pic :D

After the dinner proceed to Ikea to get a Vase and do some 'walking' exercise - really need that. After paying the counter, She try to open up the plastic bag buy said that she got smooth hand, cannot open bag. I tease her again, her hand so smooth that she only use it to hold mine. She suddenly got shiok with me pulak! Nasib baik kita di tempat public, kalau tidak... orang Jakim mesti datang ...

After that went to get a bag, I want to pay but she stop me - she paid.

After that went to Tesco to get some 'Fruits in Cans' Cans. Need to make a gift basket for my folks.

No hug and No kiss, but I still think is a fantastic night!

Grandma pass away last Tuesday nite. I regret that I never get to see her last 'face'! I regret I never see her as often as I use to, when she's staying with me!

She's like another mother to me... Taking care of me, while my parents away working. I am the longest grandson that she had taken care of...

I learn a lot from her, even she never say 'smart' things before. She taught me to always give others unconditional love, even the other person did bad things to you.

I am going to miss you a lot, grandma!

Passion to become a trainer

Attended a Cert. in Prof. Trainer (CPT) preview last night.
According to speaker, there are 2 type of income - passion and passive income...

Speaker also advice we should not look at the $$$ first when become trainer. Agree with speaker. even the course cost $13K, immeidately sign up - but got 7 days cooling period.
Interview next Thursday...

Meet up with F last Saturday. I let PF know about the meeting. She was furious when I told her F likes to save $ but PF is a big spender!

I feel PF doesn't like to save $ for rainy days.

When I ask PF what she's going to do if I give her RM$1000. She just said that she's going to spend on her clothings and jewelries... I will feel a lot better if she told me she's going to use it for charity, give to her mom, invest in some education etc. I am disappoint with PF.

PF likes expensive gives like diamond... All girls like that. And she also likes me to give her RM1,000 per month, just to express how much I love her.

When I refuse, I am only willing to give her RM$300 a month, she got upset. She said that I am stingy.

After last nite TM meeting, bump into PA in MidValley. When ask about wife, he told me wife and him separated!

How can this happen! PA is such a sweet guy!

PA is my team member during my Uni Project, and he's the one who inspire me to continue to go on with myProject!

I cannot forget what he told me that nite, that because of my stubbourness, my persistent in that Uni Project, all the other Uni mates changed thier mind (All the while my Uni Friends thought that I am a stuck-up person.) - and found out that I am actually a very down to earth fella! :)

Humor Master I talk about how to make funny faces out of a Teddy Bear, and how to make the Giveaway of the bear to the sweetheart more exciting. I use the TimeKeeper as my 'Sweetheart', because I always like to make fun of the Time Machine :D

No Flower, buy Choc

After tele conversation with PF last Friday nite, feel like want to buy her flowers on Sat...

Went to the same flower shop where I bought my ex-gf flower but the shop close down already! No choice, short of time too, just go back to TW shop and bought her a bar of Choc.

On Saturday, when to see a movie. She really cheer me up! :)

Surprise she call me when I walk into my bedroom that nite! :)

I want us to know each either slowly first, because I feel like we're going too fast!

Meet PF, Round 2

2. Work in an office just one floor below my first company.
3. Join a Mandarin TM before.
4. Join the same school 20 years ago.

I think our relationship was made in heaven, or she's my long lost twin sister! :)

SQC Workshop

Learn from SQC workshop last Sunday on how to get subsricbers.

1. Emphatize.2. Ask question.3. Resolve.4. Close.

The workshop also teach us how to listen, and I learn a lot from the workshop.

I even do some evaluation on some of the speakers, with TM style! :)

I think I can use what I learn from TM and in TM, I can use what I learned from SQC :)

Speed Dating and PF

At first I did not recognize her.

She keep on asking questions about my high school, at first, because she was skeptical, trying to figure out if we are from the same class before.

I was annoyed when she keep on asking me about my high school!

Later we all broke into laughter when she mentioned that only after 20 year we met each other again!

The theme for coming TM meeting is "Let's make it Big." The theme made makes my hands very itchy because I want to 'make it Big' - make big money! I want to gamble and make big money!

I think giving a speech on stage is like gambling too. We will not know what is the reaction of your audience, wheather they will like your speech or not. But at least we are not loosing any money, when we gamble on stage! :)

In toastmasters, we are all winners! Think of the valuable feedback we will get! It's priceless!

I am proud of my Parents!

They have proved them wrong!

My parents join a choir about a year ago. The turnout for the choir training very bad, every week. The chairman wanted to abandon the choir long time ago.

But my parents and the rest of the members presist that the choir must go on! They manage recruit a lot of new members at the end; about 40, and they did a fantastic performance last Saturday!

From their singing, I can here they had been trained well by the teacher. They sang from the stomach, not from the troat!

I am proud of my parents! Bravo to them! :)

Advice from my Dad

After I work for a few years, I remember my dad advice me to find a company which do business which can supply infinite income to my pay cheque; example, A company which can supply basic necessity for mankind. Basic necessity like food, shelter and clothing.

A company that produce rice, sugar, flour etc. is consider a stable company.

But since the 'layoff' hot period during the early 2000, I don't think joining a company, with stable income is a good idea anymore.

I think we need a tool to get income. Just like what Kiyosaki taught us - our brain! Like what he advice us, we should always use our brain power to get money. His book really change my thinking of how we should handle money. Now I understand.

Rich and Poor Dads

Finished reading Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad; which I have to put Nelson Mandela's Long Walk of freedom on hold for a while. Saki's book remind me of Dal's 'hate' email (written in my blog a few days ago.) She's right when she said, as an employee, we're all spending our time and making money for the employer we served. This is what Kiyosaki called a 'RatRace'. In the book, he want us to break away from this cycle of rat race. Offered a few advice.

I like the part When Dal mentioned how one of her colleague, believe that a certifacate is more important then attending workshops. Maybe her colleague think that it is more marketable, if one move to another company.

If you get a certificate, you only get what you learn in a classroom, learn the theories. However, you don't have real life expereince.

If you attended a workshop, you get the instrctor to simulate the problem, right in front of your eyes, probably you will not understand or understand very little; about the theories, at the moment.

Who should an employer hire? Depends on how much the employer know about the knowldge or expertise of the skill involve.

An Employer can access the candidate by hiring another expert in the field to access the knowledge of the candidate. That's what I did once, for free for one of my friend, looking for an Oracle Forms and Reports.

One should look for a interest group that can both share knowledge and experience together. I think Toastmasters is one of such program.

I wish someone one day can form an Oracle Users Group here.

Mandela and Gandhi

Reading Mandela's autobiography, Long walk to freedom, now.

I really like his usage of English words, I remember the first time I read his writings from the TIME magazine 'Person of the Century" edition, he likes to mix simple and difficult words together ... he wrote something like " constitution and guns " ... something like that.

Can't wait to go back and continue his book. A lot of times about his struggle as a Freedom Fighter, compare to Malcom X autobiography, he's book is 'less hate' sentences or sometimes I don't feel any 'hate' words at all. I see a lot of struggle in his book, and he uses a lot of laymen's term, I think. Easy to understand...

Gandhi inspired him. I quickly go and watch the VCD which I bought since 1999 last Saturday! His story is also very inspiring! How he try to defy the British, The walk to ??? to make salt.

I had join both Software house (SH) like Unidata and End User (EU) like Motorola before. I had heard stories, opinions from my IT friends about both SB and EU camps, and here are the differences:

SH :
1. Have more pioneer spirits, like to explore New stuff, R&D.
2. More knowledge sharing among the IT staff.
3. Less Ego, because of No. 2 above.
4. Prefer small to medium company.
5. Business not stable, depends on the other industries, need to get projects from EUs, both govt and private.

EU :
1. Stress More on their 'core' business, like Motorola more on thier chips, (now mobile phone), like DiGi, more on the Telco business.
2. IT projects more sub-contract to SH.
3. Small to huge coporation.
4. Business more stable then SH.
5. Less knowledge sharing among IT. I have not find one big company that have the same camadarie as a SH, please let me know if you find one. I am still looking for this Mecca!
6. Bigger Ego, because everyone want's to climb up the coporate ladder. Join big company, Show BIG name in front of others. ("Do you know my son-in-law is an Engineer with DiGi/ Motorola/ Maybank?")
7. This is from number 5 and 6. The more expereince, the longer the person work in IT, the less he wants to share with you, I found out. Unless you are equally experience as the other, like Haro*. Hali* and Fu.

I did a speech about Kitty Genovese a few weeks ago. Her murder case was use as a case study by professors to study human behavior, why we never help anyone even if we know a friend, neighbour very well? What happen to Alturism?

Why we don't like to share our knowledge with others?

Haro*, Hali* and Fu has these kind of thinking: "If I teach you everything, you had learn everything from me, you are better than me, and the boss will promote you, pay you more instead of me..."

Typical Chinese thinking "The Sifu will not teach you everything, if he does, the decipel will kill the Sifu!"

We want to give because we want to be happy. Sharing Knowledge with others is also an act of kindness. We need happiness, and an act of kindness is one of them, (article from StarMag 08/10/2006 FitForLife Page 8.)

That's why I join Toastmasters! :)

Make Oracle Autostart Database

Use to see my DBA create the Autostart feature for Unix boxes, never do this before. Last few days however I took the courage to do 'Autostart' in my office's HP-UX box. Here's what I did,

1. look for oratab file, which is in /etc/oratab. Modify the file.
2. create a dbora file, which is in the /sbin/init.d/ directory.
3. chmod 755 dbora
4. chgrp dba dbora (change group to DBA)
5. Do a symbolic link: (login as root)
# ln -s /sbin/init.d/dbora /etc/rc0.d/K10dbora
# ln -s /sbin/init.d/dbora /etc/rc3.d/S99dbora

Use www.unixguide.net as a reference for different flavour of Unix.

Attended a Internet Marketing Interest Group last Friday. I think they do it like a toastmasters club. Joining fee is US$260, and these guys are willing to help you to setup your own website, give advice etc. Still wonder it worthwhile for me to join this group?

Sit down last night and try to figure out what should I do in my life. Write down a few stuff in a paper, and come out with this few things:

Career: My job, Project 1, Project 2, Project 3, etc

Hobbies: Hobby 1, Hobby 2, Hobby 3, etc

Feel like there are a lot of things to learn and do in life!

There's one staff who really doesn't have the passion and enthusiasm to learn. I do not know how to keep him interest in the subject!

Attended S.Fernando Humor Workshop

Finally I get a chance to see S.Fernando in action yesterday! He's just an ordinary guy on the street if you look at him but once he get on to the stage, he can really FLY!He says that if we wanna do humor, we should start 'collecting' jokes and laugh at ourselves (bold, grey hair, dumb) first.I wake up this morning and I started to see a lot of jokes, funny things around me. How come I never see all this before?

I make it to 2nd place in HS&SE Area W5 Contest 2006

Only 3 of us contesting in the HS&SE Area W5 Contest. I make it to number 2, lost to YWYip and SQuah unfortunately disqualify because over time!

YWY id good! He used an umbrella and a chair as prop. Stand on the chair sit on the chair, all sorts of stuff he did! I think he should take into consideration of the time. Because if he's going to get a Big crowd who cannot stop laughing, he maybe a bit over time. Remember to cater for the time. Some "laughing time".

SQuah did ok too. But I think he took some materials from the Star paper. I wonder if he's pragiarizing (sorry for the spelling), "The man .. woman" in the "Mind your English" section a few days ago. I miss that.

As for me, I think my voice is just too loud and strong, and monotonous. Need to work more on my vocal variety. Thank you for the Toastmaster who gave me advice. Don't know his name...

Lim got no. 3 in evaluation. Bravo to him becuase is his 1st time. Surprise Vinc H** lost to HSBC guy. HSBC guy, I think win because he got more friendly face.

So far the best evaluator I heard is from Tmn Indrahana. She can make you like she's part of the spekers' speech. I don't know how he did it, but she is good.

How you can keep a poker face while giving humor?

A lot of people ask me how I can give a poker face while giving 'humor'?

I don't really know! Maybe it's because of my phobia. The scared to go out phobia. It's in my grand aunty in Vietnam, and my own grand mother. Some how I got the gene. And I am not sure how to communicate with a 'human'.

Because of that, somehow my human comm. skill still in some 'infancy' period. Still like a kid, I think. And because kids are sooo honest, and straight forward, and we adults think that is funny, some how I got this humor in me.

I call it a kids humor.

Last Tuesday attended Indrahana HS&SE contest. I like the champ Dominic. Can't remember the exact title. He talk about how we M'sian should sometimes be a bit rude, if we see another person not behaving correctly.

It's true that I only can remember what he did in the speech, like taking out the handkerchief, taking out the tiger balm, but cannot remember the content.

But from these actions, I can remember the speech and the message. Amazing!

Last nite, somehow I have an idea for speech #7. I am going to talk about 'the 3 laws of robotics'. I took my favourite Asimov novel out, 'I, Robot', go thru the short story, 'Runaround' and have a few ideas in my mind already :) I am ready to rock-and-roll again, with my #7! :)

Need to figure out how to make it a speech, instead of a written story, that's a big challenge.

DBLINK and PRAGMA AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION

I try to create an exception in the C***Q project, where I want to detect what happen if the network suddenly gone down. I simulate this by unplugging the network cable but some how, the program will no go to the 'exception when others handler' !?

The program is calling a DBLink and whenever it hits a 'commit' or 'rollback', some how it will fail even exception handler will not capture the error.

After a few hours, I found out that I should call another procedure and issue a 'pragma autonomous transaction' to counter DBLink's commit or rollback.

Some how the exception was handled perfectly! :) This is useful especially when we want to write an error log into one of the exception table. example:

I finish speech #6 last Monday in 6:56 minutes. But pathetic during the meeting because only 11 of us turn up! However I think we have a terrific meeting because a lot of humour able TM during the meeting.

Need more practise on my vocal variety. My evalutor says that I should 'raise' my voice up again, when I want to go from one point to another, just to grab the attention of the audience.

Can't wait for 4th Sept.

My 6 is actually an inspiration of what I did on the table topic contest in March this year, topic is "I want to win..." In the speech I talk about my addiction, Addicted to computer games.

I'll use 'Confession of an addict on the 3rd rock from the Sun." as my speech topic.

I talk about how I become an addict, how I discover I have waste time of becoming one, and how I should quit, etc.

Did not run Startup Migrate

I did not run a catpatch.sql after I upgrade from Oracle 9.2.0.1 to 9.2.0.7 !

When I do a catexp.sql, the database lock some tables. I panic!

Luckily we have a DBA in the house. He found out I forgot to run catpatch and I run it. It works like a charm now...

Another life embarassing moment happened to me last Sunday. I was short of $ when I want to pay dinner for 4 of us (1 guy and 3 girls)! Cost $67, and I only got $35! I thought I heard $17 so pay $20 but the girl beside me, M** :) pay another $50.... Oh Dear! I am so embarassing!

Hopefully I can still call her out later :(

How to do the Object Library?

Try to for PG4MQ gateway with a .NET application, gateway having conflicts with .NET oracle components.

Maybe a tnsnames or listnener problem. Not sure yet.

Thank god I solve the problem 2 weeks later. Problem with the path. The PATH should call ora9i first before calling 10gr2, because suppose to pick up ora9i libraries, not 10gr2.
